My New Sony Ericsson C902!!
Friday, July 25, 2008
Friday, July 25, 2008

Last week i got the new Sony Ericsson C902!!! Wooohooo!!! Its S.E's new high end phone with a super slim design coupled with a upgraded sophisticated but yet easy to use S.E interface. Its fantastic! Exactly what i want; compact yet stylish and powerful! And you know the best thing? I PAID $0.00 FOR IT!!!

I continued my existing M1 plan by signing another 2 years contract, and because my plan was a premium plan, together with trading in my old cheap phone, and my loyalty M1 rebate or something like that, I got this really great phone for $0.00 (ZZERO)!!! They were giving me a few choices; the HTC-Touch, Samsung D series and a few other good phones. I finally decided that the C902 was the best for me.

I love taking pictures, and the C902 comes with a 5 megapixel AUTO FOCUS Cybershot Camera with TOUCH SCREEN functions for every single camera effect and setting! Its amazing. The camera is actually hidden inside the phone, and to use it, simply slide it out from the top of the phone . its so cool!

Its auto focus and digital zoom functions are so clear! Its just like my digital camera =)) really happy with it.

Furthermore, you should see how thin it is!!!

Went to Sakae Sushi that day and took a picture...

=))

Yay I love my new phone!

!Yeah!

School Starts!
Wednesday, July 23, 2008

The first week of school has finally arrived!

In one way or another, it feels weird to be back; as i step into school as a 4th year student, and looking at all my juniors; not recognizing anyone of them.

The 4th year BA class has about 32 of us, with 13 piano majors among other instrumental and vocal majors. For the bachelors program i'll be doing piano as my major instead of majoring in composition with music technology during my first 3 years at nafa. It is exciting because i know many new experiences await me.

Yesterday we had year 3/4 piano performance class with a masterclass conducted by a visiting professor. 3 pianists from my year played- beet sonata, prok sonata no.3, and schub wanderer 1st mov.

In the evening i watched one of the concerts of the Beethoven Sonatas series and really enjoyed it!

All in all i'm really enjoying school now, and everything looks good so far. =))

Wish me luck!

The juniors and seniors actually took a trip down to airport that day for some visiting. The new T3 is gorgeous! The hotel even more, bringing out the camera kids in us. haha

Shout to Sing
Saturday, July 12, 2008
Saturday, July 12, 2008

Knowing that this is a private and personal blog actually puts my mind at ease. At least i dont get funny people reading my blog at like 200 odd page views a day.

Finally its Friday (more like saturday because its past midnight!) The start of the weekend, or soon to be.

Stayed in camp practically the entire week. Had the joy of waking up at 8am and still not be late for work! Well because work is just 1 min away from my bunk? (more like hariz's bunk.) I'm actually beginning to enjoy staying in camp. The convenience of it is really a plus point. Not to mention good company.

Wanted to tan with Lee today. But as usual, the sun has refused to shine, yet again. Its been raining more than anything else! Arhh... seeing myself become fairer by the day is just too worrying. hah

The band singers attached to the spf choir had a mini potluck lunch today. We ordered rites pizza and even added some kfc chicken! Couldnt finish the food eventually, so had to give them away.

Did temasek chorale's rehearsal today. Received a special note of thanks from the Principal of the school for my long service with them as choir instructor. I was really touched! The principal wrote me a special note to express her gratitude for "bringing up the choir's choral standard" and "Inspiring the kids". The note ended with "You are a great coach!" I was really touched. I opened the envelop and besides the letter, I saw a cheque inside too! A bonus?! Wow man...

Tms chorale was my first ever external school choir that ive worked for; I started out as a choir accompanist for the choir in my secondary school days! And 5 years down the road, i'm an instructor. 5 Years... just flew by.

Seraphim choir's rehearsal shortly after temasek's. After seraphim's rehearsal i totally lost my voice. All the coaching and yelling for dynamics, diction, change in tempo/style, voicing, balance, tone, sound direction... finally did some bad justice to my voice. I have to learn to control without speaking too 'loudly'!

I'm quite sad about it. Most probably quite soon all these will come to pass when i start school. Might have to drop a few choirs. I cant wait to start school actually. Planning the topic for my thesis now. Thinking of doing "Singapore's Choral Scene: Its developments from the 1990s to the dawn of the new millennium." Still thinking about other choices though.

Shostakovich Piano Concerto No.2 keeps ringing in my mind! The second movement is so beautiful. Especially the opening passages of the piano part; with those high octave registers and sparkling tunes, the melody notes seem as though they were diamonds floating in the night sky. Love it man.

I shall sleep with that tune in my mind.

Mark bro, joan and ru are coming in two weeks! I can't wait!!!

Goodnight!

Tiring Days
Thursday, July 10, 2008
Thursday, July 10, 2008

A tiring day today. Rehearsed my choir at phq and everything went very smoothly. They should be more or less quite prepared for next week's concert.

Its been really tiring these days. Rehearsals and all. I hope everything will just fly by quickly so that i can have a good rest before school starts on 21st July.

I cant wait.

Sentosa Beach Outing
Monday, July 07, 2008
Monday, July 07, 2008

Today was the Sentosa beach outing which i organised for my squad mates. Its probably the last squad gathering our squad is ever gonna do before we ord to go our separate ways in life.

It was really fun! We went to vivo for lunch and then headed down to Sentosa's Palawan beach for fun and games.

Will miss all you guys man!

All the best and keep in touch!

Long days and an interesting play!
Sunday, July 06, 2008
Sunday, July 06, 2008

I have been staying in camp for the past few days. Doing guard duty is quite tiring! But i really pity lee, who has so much more work to do than me because he's the Duty officer, whereas i am just the provost officer. haha... NSPIs and their responsibilities. Its good to do duty with a really close friend. Makes duty less... dutified? haha... We went to the gym and jammed in the band room etc etc during our free time.

After duty i had to cancel lesson with one of my students because i simply could not make it in time to go from west to east in half an hour! Sigh.. I only have a few piano students left. Dropped the rest because i simply have to prepare for my bachelors.

In the evening i went with Hariz to watch the play "The governor's wife". With the interesting plot coupled with the unconventional use of story structure, this play is really one to watch out for! Just before the interval of the show, the director of the show actually walked right up to the actors to stopped them from acting! ... saying there was a 'technical error' and they had to take a break. Initially we thought there was REALLy an error, but the reason of the awkward break to the story line only revealed itself in the second half of the play. Was really innovative and new!

Schools starting on the 21st July and it all seems too confusing now that my NS life and school life are literally 'intersecting' each other. The band director has agreed to give me time off from my last two months of national service to start my bachelor studies at nafa. However i still do have to clock 44 hours of work at camp each week. And seriously, i am starting to worry if i can cope. But well, i'd rather get stressed up for 2 months rather than wait another year for the next bachelors intake.

Got to sleep now. Its gonna be a long day tomorrow.

Snooze

Another two days in camp
